SAN DIEGO (March 6, 2008) – If knowledge is power, then the new Life Fitness® Vivo Web site is the ultimate motivator. This state-of-the-art tool, unveiled today at IHRSA 2008, harnesses personal fitness and training data to give exercisers the power to plan, customize and track cardio workouts online.
Designed to link exercisers and equipment, the Web site’s interactive, online program harnesses the data exercisers store on a USB device through the integrated USB port on the Elevation Series products (EngageTM and InspireTM Consoles only). The Vivo Web site organizes and stores a user’s workout data making it simple to view and track progress from a computer, as well as create personalized workouts for usage anywhere, anytime on Life Fitness Elevation Series products.
“Through research, we’ve been able to discern that exercisers hitting ‘Quick Start’ are more likely to get bored and quit their exercise sooner than those who opt for the richer workout profiles,” said Bob Quast, vice president of product management for Life Fitness. “The Life Fitness Vivo Web site makes it easier for exercisers to access more engaging workouts and provides feedback on progress, which is an essential tool to help exercisers continue on their fitness journey.”

Through the Life Fitness Vivo Web site, exercisers can plan regular workouts on a fitness calendar and create workouts best suited for their fitness needs. It also makes it easier to “get on and go,” by plugging a USB device into the equipment’s USB port and selecting the desired program created on the Web site. The machine automatically adjusts to the chosen workout.
The Life Fitness Vivo Web site enables facilities to enhance their personal training offering to help clients reach their fitness goals. Through the Web site, trainers can design personal Web accounts to store individualized workouts for clients and track a client’s progress between sessions. Facilities also have the option of purchasing Life Fitness-branded USB wristbands.
“This innovative solution offers the kind of advanced fitness technology that gives facilities a competitive edge,” said Quast. “It engages both the body and the mind, and it empowers exercisers and trainers to take workouts to the next level. This is the future of fitness.”
Registration and access to the Life Fitness Vivo Web site is free for facilities, trainers and exercisers. Visit www.vivo.lifefitness.com for more information.
