REDMOND, Wash. – Light My Fire, the Sweden-based maker of designer outdoor accessories, has introduced a new material for its best-known product, the Spork. Sold in 40 countries around the world, the Spork has a long history of evolving in response to customer demand offering a steady stream of new sizes, colors and applications. Now, the Spork will champion an exciting new material – Eastman Tritanâ„¢.

Eastman Tritanâ„¢ is a new generation of copolyester that is completely free from BPA (bisphenol-A). The new material will be available in all colors and sizes as an alternative to the present PC (polycarbonate).
New generation material with unique qualities
Eastman Tritanâ„¢ is not only BPA-free; it also offers a number of advantages over earlier plastic materials. Tritanâ„¢ is highly impact-resistant with exceptional clarity, low haze, high gloss and consistent color. It withstands a wide range of temperatures and is dishwasher-safe. What’s more, Tritanâ„¢ has a smaller environmental footprint than older plastic materials. It allows for faster molding cycles reducing energy consumption. Its slightly lower density not only brings down product weight but reduces material consumption further limiting environmental impact.â€
