Toronto, Canada (April 21, 2011) – Lorpen, a leading designer and manufacturer of high performance socks for outdoor and wintersport enthusiasts, is celebrating Earth Day everyday with its continued sustainable environmental efforts in the creation of eco-friendly Comfort Life socks in eco-friendly facilities.
One of Lorpen’s green product achievements comes in a fun and functional sock line called Comfort Life. This soft, everyday sock is made created from Modal, a cellulose fiber spun from the beech tree and transformed into yarn. Modal allows Comfort Life socks to not only be comfortable and colorful but also 50% more absorbent than cotton. Available in a variety of colors, patterns and lengths for both men and women, these socks make being green fun.
“At Lorpen, our sentiment of respect and conservation of the environment starts at the very base of our business as our headquarters reside in one of the most environmentally rich areas of the world, the Navarra Pyrenean foothills in Spain,†says Colin Sanders, VP of sales and marketing at Lorpen North America. “We strive to create the best product for our customer but also the best product for our environment. Our Comfort Life collection is a combination of those efforts, creating a soft, well-designed everyday sock that feels good and that our customers can feel good about.â€
Lorpen’s effort to sustain the environment comes through in the company’s ecological efforts in combination with creating technologically advanced products. These efforts include the use of recyclable materials in the packaging, use of recycled water vapor as a reusable energy source, and a reusable water source supply with no spillage or detergents. Also, multiple manufacturing facilities are located in key areas to reduce Lorpen’s carbon footprint in product distribution.
