The LOWA Hunter GTX® Extreme has just won a Gold Medal in Fish Alaska’s Editor’s Choice Award March 2010 edition, on stands for the next 12 months. The gold medal favorite awards are chosen for products tested and proven throughout the prior year.
The criteria for winning a gold medal is best summed up in this excerpt from the Awards article. “…not only do we want to represent the best of the gear we used over the past season, equipment we can recommend to our readers with confidence, but we’re also looking for the stuff we’d use ourselves, whether packing for a weekend on the Kenai or a week’s adventure on the lonely Arolik.â€
The Hunter GTX Extreme is the pinnacle of LOWA’s field boot collection. It is beefy and burly with a leather upper and a GORE-TEX® liner for waterproofness and breathability. PrimaLoft® insulation provides additional comfort and warmth. Vibram’s Tsavo ll outsole provides traction while the PU midsole provides cushioning. A tall shaft offers maximum ankle stability and support, as well as a high-wall rubber rand for durability and abrasion resistance.
LOWA Boots LLC, with headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, is a partnership with LOWA Sportschuhe Gmbh founded in 1923 and based in Jetzendorf, Germany. The U.S. company, launched in 1996, sells, markets, and distributes a complete line of four season outdoor footwear for walking, hiking, backpacking, and mountaineering as well as everyday use.
