LOWA Introduces 2010 Collection of Walking Shoes

For 2010, LOWA’s new collection of walking shoes includes specialized product for outdoor fitness walking, urban walking and travel, and technical walking. Whether walking with a purpose or just as part of a daily routine, walking is the number one outdoor activity in the country. Frame Sole Construction:
Monowrap® construction, used for shoes in the Outdoor Fitness Walking and Urban Walking and Travel Collections, allows LOWA to take their midsole PU construction and inject it around the sides of the shoe, wrapping the foot in a lightweight, comfortable, and supportive frame. The rubber outsoles are embedded into the PU midsoles, decreasing the need for glue that is heavy and potentially toxic, while retaining overall support. They provide the traction needed for comfortable use on both wet and dry trails.

For Women Only
Women’s walking shoes are all specially lasted and feature narrower heels and specially contoured padded tongues. The designs, the overall cut, and the padding make them comfortable and provide a secure fit specifically for the anatomy of a female foot.

Outdoor Fitness Walking:
LOWA’s health and fitness category of footwear provides their customers the fit, comfort, and support needed for an exhilarating walking workout. SGMA (Sporting Goods Manufacturer Association) reports that there are 108.7 million fitness walking participants in the U.S… and that 91% of all fitness walkers see product quality as important when purchasing footwear. The new LOWA models below will pass any quality test.

Argon GTX® and Argon GTX® Lady…NEW FOR 2010 – Fast and light, this new model is a new-school speed walker shoe defined by the company’s proprietary PU Monowrap® construction with a small stabilizer for stability and support. The lightweight upper is split leather and Cordura® combined with a GORE-TEX® waterproof and breathable liner. LOWA’s Speed Walking sole with 4mm lugs for muddy or slippery trails makes this shoe ideal for fitness walking in wet conditions.

Neutron and Neutron Lady…NEW FOR 2010 – The Neutron offers the same features as the Argon but with a split leather and mesh upper with a mesh lining for warmer, dryer climates.

Urban Walking and Travel:
LOWA’s story for urban walking and travel continues to be an advanced level of technology that combines light weight with flexible and ergonomic support resulting in sneaker-like comfort. The AL-X Series of shoes cross over from smooth, easy trail-to-pavement exploration during the day to relaxed nighttime activities, making them excellent choices for both travel and casual use.

AL-X Serano GTX® Lo and AL-X Serano GTX® Lo Lady…NEW FOR 2010 – This low-cut model has a split leather and Cordura® upper with a PU Monowrap® frame construction for support, cushioning and comfort. The waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX® lining provides keeps feet dry in wet conditions.

AL-X Venturo Lo and AL-X Venturo Lo Lady…NEW FOR 2010 – The AL-X Venturo offers the same features as the Argon but with a split leather and mesh upper and a mesh lining for warmer, dryer climates.

AL-X Fultano Lo and AL-X Fultano Lo Lady…NEW FOR 2010 – This shoe is a bit dressier than the other two models in the travel/casual walking category. The upper is split leather and the lining is a quick-dry synthetic with the PU Monowrap® frame construction for support, cushioning and comfort.

Technical Walking:
LOWA’s technical walking shoes are slightly stiffer than the models above providing added support for more rugged terrain and/or carrying a light day or lumbar pack for outdoor photography, bird-watching, or day hiking type of activities. These shoes also work well for people in uniform who need extra support to be on their feet all day.

PINTO Lo…The Pinto Lo is a sturdy walking shoe made of nubuck leather with LOWA’s BMW-quality leather lining. The Vibram® Pinto rubber trekking sole offers support and the soft-flexing PU midsole adds comfort.
Criollo GTX® Lo and Criollo GTX® Lo Lady…NEW FOR 2010 – For wetter climates, the lightweight Cirolla GTX has a nubuck and full grain leather upper combined with a breathable and waterproof GORE-TEX® lining. It also features the sturdy Vibram® Pinto outsole and soft flexing PU midsole.

Abaco Lo Lady…NEW FOR 2010 – Designed with the same features as the Criolla GTX but with a quick-drying synthetic lining.

Konik Lo and Konik Lo Lady…NEW FOR 2010 – Designed with the same features as the Abaco Lo with stamped nubuck and full grain leather upper.
