LOWA Takes Home Two Golds in Fish Alaska's Annual Gear Guide

LOWA’s Renegade ll GTX Lo for women and the Baikal GTX have just been awarded Fish Alaska’s Year in Gear Gold Award. The announcement was made in the magazine’s Annual Gear Guide just hitting kiosks and bookstores around the country. Each year, three categories of awards are handed out including Gold and Silver plus Field Favorites. Both models went through many months of testing and “survived everything Alaska – and our staff – could throw at it and came out with rave reviews,” stated Fish Alaska editors. In presenting the award, they recognized the design and performance that are integral to both LOWA models.

The Baikal GTX multi-purpose winter boot is constructed of split leather and features a GORE-TEX® lining insulated with Panda fleece. LOWA’s proprietary G3 sole with an SPS/PU midsole provides maximum grip on snow and ice. The combination of a soft rubber blend with proprietary textile increases grip by up to 32% over other kinds of material combinations. The stud pattern follows the natural line of foot motion with a minimum of one stud in contact with the ground at all times during the roll-off motion.

The Renegade ll GTX Lo all terrain light hiker features LOWA’s proprietary Monowrap® frame midsole construction that wraps around the lower part of the upper for stability and support, while the PU midsole ensures shock absorption, rebound sensitivity and environmental sustainability. Other features include a nubuck leather upper and a GORE-TEX® lining.
