Located in North Conway, New Hampshire, Mount Washington Valley has plenty of ice terrain where over 500 ice climbers from across the U.S. and Canada are expected to congregate February 1-3, 2013 for the annual Mount Washington Valley Ice Festival. Amid the celebration of ice climbing, the mountains and the climbing community, festival participants are invited to the LOWA tent to visit, check out and demo their world-class German mountaineering boots including the Weisshorn GTX, Ice Comp IP GTX and Vertical GTX.

The boot tent team will be led by LOWA representatives, Brian Hamann and Christian McConnell. Participating festival attendees are encouraged to take this opportunity to find out about LOWA boots, the German quality that goes into each model and the differentiation between LOWA and other products on the market. Climbers can “try before they buy” to choose the model best suited for individual feet and for the Northeast terrain.

Ice Festival organizers will be giving away prizes that include a gift certificate for a pair of LOWA boots. LOWA’s new poster of LOWA athlete, Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner, will be handed out for shop use and dorm rooms. Gerllnde is the first woman to summit all 14 eight-thousand meter peaks without supplemental oxygen.

The Mount Washington Valley Ice Festival is the premier ice climbing and winter mountaineering event on the East Coast and one of the longest-running ice climbing festivals in the world. Events are held at International Mountain Equipment (IME), official host of the event in conjunction with their International Mountain Climbing School. Activities will include competitions, various beginning to advanced climbing clinics and the opportunity to check out and try the latest gear while catching up with some of the world’s most experienced climbers.
