LOWA Unveils Spring 2013 Product Line-Up

For nearly 90 years of building boots In Europe, LOWA has continued its tradition of incorporating old world know-how and experience with laserlike focus on new technologies, materials and designs for their outdoor customer’s needs. 2013 will be no different.

LOWA has earned and continues to maintain the highly prestigious ISO 9001 manufacturing standards status. This requires them to continually review design, sourcing, manufacturing and quality processes and refine them when necessary. They are required to research raw materials, use the best available on the market, test the materials and incorporate them into their footwear.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR SPRING 2013
In the Mountaineering category… Designed for alpine mountaineering as well as difficult rock and ice-climbing: New for 2013 is the Cevedale Pro GTX®, designed as the ideal guide boot where versatility is paramount.

Backpacking: At LOWA, backpacking means putting on a full pack and hiking long distances both on- and off-trail: The men’s Tibet GTX has proven itself many times on the toughest treks all over the world and now returns with a new last providing more toe box room, a new midsole package and the addition of I-Core and I-Lock. The new BMW-leather lined version Tibet LL for men and women offers the same features and wicks moisture as only natural leather can do.

Trekking…For logging on-trail miles with a mid-weight pack: Three new trekking boots enhance the line including the women’s Mauria GTX® Flex, men’s Camino LL Flex and the Focus LL for men and women. Both the Mauria GTX Flex and Camino LL Flex utilize LOWA’s Flex construction that increases comfort with its freely moving lace hooks and loops that keep the tongue in place, reducing pressure across the top of the foot.

The Flex concept has also been expanded into the Focus family of trekking models: lightweight board-lasted sturdy hikers that feature Flex-inspired lacing designs for added comfort. Not only do they perform to LOWA standards, they add a bright aesthetic element to the line with a young and fun look for all ages. New for 2013 is the Focus LL Lo leather lined model.

ATC (All Terrain Collection)…Outdoor multi-function, do-it-in-a-day, day hikers, week-end hikers. They are called many things but to LOWA they are the All Terrain Collection or ATC for short: These models are cult favorites among day hikers and weekend adventure-seekers that want out-of-the-box comfort and zero break-in time. The MONOWRAP® frame construction allows the use of lightweight materials that reduce overall weight. Both GORE-TEX® and BMW-quality leather linings accommodate hikers from cold and wet to warm and dry conditions and everywhere in between.

New models include the Zephyr GTX Mid for men, Toro GTX Lo and Sirkos GTX Lo for men and women and the women’s Bora GTX QC.

Fitness/Speed Hiking…The two new S-Cloud models, one with and one without GORE-TEX® promise to be best sellers for do-it-in-a-day fitness walking and speed hiking as a bridge between LOWA’s ATC models and the trail runners. Built on the same sole as LOWA’s trail runners, they combine the company’s heritage of leather uppers together with a lightweight sole construction and a new technology for venting and breathability.
