Sports Sunglass Company Adds Marketing Bench Strength In An Effort To Grow National Awareness
Wheat Ridge, Colo., May 29, 2013 – Optic Nerve, the industry leader in performance-driven, price-conscious sunglasses and goggles, is pleased to announce that Mae Harris has joined the organization as the Marketing Communications Specialist. Harris will be an important brand leader as Optic Nerve implements new grassroots marketing initiatives in an effort to build customer engagement and national awareness.
Formally the Director of Client Services for a national retail expansion firm in Austin, Texas, Harris moved to Denver at the end of 2012. She hoped to find a new career opportunity where she could utilize her branding expertise at a growing company that shares her passion for ethical business practices. Since this can be hard to find in the corporate world, Harris was thrilled to connect with Gregory Niver, Sales and Brand Manager for Optic Nerve.
For nearly 25 years, Optic Nerve has operated on a few core principles that include empowering employees, strengthening community, reducing waste and ensuring fairness in all aspects of the supply chain process. At the start of 2013, the Optic Nerve leadership team laid out significant growth goals for the following year and beyond. To help reach these goals, Niver began looking for an individual to join the team as the Marketing Communications Specialist.
Niver explained that Harris had several abilities he was looking for; creating cross-channel communications and managing grassroots marketing initiatives were at the top of that list. “Most importantly, Mae is a good cultural fit,” Niver said. “Her personality and priorities are aligned with the brand’s guiding principles.”
Harris has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. After graduation, she held multiple roles at Foodmix Marketing Communications prior to serving as Director of Client Services for The Retail Strategy. Since moving to Denver, Harris has become a mentor for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Colorado.
