Mammut Appoints Takahashi for Western Canada Territory Manager

Mammut, the Swiss quality providers of alpine gear and apparel, has appointed veteran outdoor brand representative Earl Takahashi as their new Western Canada Territory Manager. Joining the seasoned sales force of the Mammut Sports Group, Takahashi will bring his years of experience to a rapidly growing sales territory.

Based in Canmore, Alberta, Earl brings his past and present experience to the Mammut Sports Group sales force. Prior to working with the Alpine Club of Canada, he most recently worked with an independent Canadian agency, where he represented some of the outdoor market’s premium quality brands over the course of three years. Covering all of Western Canada, Takahashi will be Mammut’s road warrior, servicing all existing and new retail partners. “We’re really excited to have Earl join the team,” said Bill Supple, CEO of Mammut Sports Group USA. “Earl has that ideal blend of seasoned rep and core outdoor enthusiast. He is both well established in the Western Canada territory and well-positioned to carry forward all of the solid work accomplished by his predecessor, Mark Freeborn in the region over the last five years. This territory has grown tremendously, and will continue to expand under Earl’s hands moving forward.”

Already on the road for the brand, Takahashi commented via mobile, “I am really honored to be joining the Mammut team at this exciting time of growth and potential for the company within North America. In addition to his years as a sales rep, Takahashi has also worked in different capacities for Canadian Mountain Holidays and Mountain Equipment Coop. As an active outdoorsman he pursues all flavors of skiing, climbs rock and ice and enjoys fly-fishing. He’s fluent in conversational Japanese and for his non-outdoor hobbies is a free-lance artist, specializing in stained glass.

Takahashi will be joining the entire Mammut Sports Group USA staff in Salt Lake City this month, for the 2012 Winter Market Outdoor Retailer show from January 18th-22nd.
