Mammut Signs Paul Robinson to North American Athlete Team

Burlington, Vermont (June 4th, 2009) – Mammut Sports Group USA, providers of Swiss quality alpine gear and apparel, recently announced the addition of prolific boulderer Paul Robinson to their north-American athlete team. Paul’s focus on bouldering compliments the Mammut alpine athlete team roster, which includes Steph Davis, Will Mayo, Josh Wharton, and several other climbers at the top of their game in a variety of disciplines.

Right out of the gate, Paul has taken a first place win at the Mammut Boulder Championships Gravity Brawl that was hosted last weekend in Fairfield, New Jersey. In a surprising finish, Paul narrowly beat fellow Mammut teammate Vasya Vorotnikov by using a difficult matching hold to complete the route. Paul hopes to ride his winning momentum to another big win at Bouldering World Cup in Vail, Colorado the weekend of June 6th and 7th, and has his sights set high for the Mammut Bouldering Championship to be held at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market tradeshow in Salt Lake City in July.

Robinson has put a dedicated effort into making a name for himself in the fast-growing sport of bouldering. An attraction to the rock that started at a very young age eventually brought him to Boulder, Colorado where he split his focus between limitless bouldering problems and pursuing a degree at the University of Colorado. Some of Paul’s notable achievements include a third place finish in 2008 Bouldering World Cup and a second place finish 2009 American Bouldering Series Nationals.
