Mammut Snow Athlete Dylan Crossman Wins at Freeskiing Nationals

Shelburne, VT (March 15th, 2010) – Mammut snow athlete Dylan Crossman is charging the Freeskiing Championships again, this year with a first place win at Kirkwood, California on March 7th. After what he believed to be a season-ending ankle injury in December, Crossman rallied to compete on Kirkwood’s challenging cirque terrain, previously unskied by championship competitors.

Skiing with his trademark smooth, aggressive style, Crossman racked up a total of 123.28 points to win the comp.

“Dylan continues to impress us with a professional attitude, competitive results, and an off-the-couch demeanor,” said Mike Welch, Sales and Marketing Manager for Mammut Sports Group USA.

“It was great to just be out there skiing – Kirkwood had just received 18 inches of powder and the terrain was unknown which is always exciting,” said Crossman. “The weather didn’t allow for the Superfinals, so we’ll see what happens this coming weekend at the Snowbird comp.”

Crossman’s past competition accomplishments include a 1st place win at the Freeskiing Nationals and the Telemark Freeskiing Championships in 2008, as well as 1st place at Crested Butte’s Extreme Freeskiing Telemark Championships in 2006 and 2007. Crossman also took 1st place at the 2006 Alpine Meadows Extreme Freeskiing Telemark Championship, as well as the Alta Town Slalom Race Series that same year.
