Mammut Sports Group, providers of Swiss quality alpine and snow gear and apparel, is proud to have telemark freeskier skier Dylan Crossman on their athlete roster, and with good reason. Crossman tore through the month of March on the Freeskiing competition circuit in both telemark and alpine disciplines, winning the Subaru U.S. Freeskiing Nationals on March 22nd at Utah’s Snowbird Ski Resort, and taking 2nd place at the first annual World Telemark Freeskiing Championships on March 31st at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska.

Primarily a telemark skier, Crossman locked his heels down for the U.S. Freeskiing Nationals at Snowbird. Skiing with his trademark smooth, aggressive style Crossman racked up a total of 123.28 points to win the comp.

“Dylan is such a versatile athlete and his competition results in March show how he excels on alpine or tele equipment,” said Ian Connor, marketing coordinator and athlete team manager for Mammut Sports Group USA. “Furthermore, he’s a great brand ambassador, possessing a professionalism not usually seen in a young athlete, and an egoless approach to adventure and his accomplishments.”

In Girdwood, a very respectable 2nd was the end result of a hard-fought battle against the world’s top telemark freeskiing talent. Crossman earned 32.8 and 34.2 points for his Finals and Superfinals runs at the World Championships to capture his second-place finish. According to Alyeska Resort’s results reporter Molly Murfee, Crossman “…skied with his usual solid unwavering (skills), over the cliff bands and variable conditions presented to him throughout the venue with equal steadiness and velocity.”

Crossman’s past competition accomplishments include 1st place at Crested Butte’s Extreme Freeskiing Telemark Championships in 2006 and 2007. Crossman also took 1st place at the 2006 Alpine Meadows Extreme Freeskiing Telemark Championship, as well as the Alta Town Slalom Race Series.
