GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (February 22, 2017) — TerraTrike, the largest manufacturer of recumbent tricycles and tricycle accessories in North America, announced today that Mark Crews will resign as general manager to pursue other opportunities. Marshall Randall, dealer sales manager, will take over the duties of general manager while also continuing to work with the sales team.

“Mark was instrumental in the growth of TerraTrike over the last five years,” said Mike Kessenich, CEO of TerraTrike. “His leadership and dedication were crucial in taking us to the next level right when we needed it the most. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

In 2016, TerraTrike reached the milestone of over 200 dealers nationwide. Already in the first quarter of 2017 the company has grown by 25 percent, up from 15 percent last year, and added eight new dealers.

TerraTrike’s growth is being fueled by two primary groups: avid cyclists who prefer the sturdy comfort of TerraTrike for bike camping, bike touring and carbon-free bike commuting; and baby boomers, who are retiring at a rate of 10,000 per day and are drawn to the unparalleled comfort and convenience.

About TerraTrike

Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2016, TerraTrike has been the longtime leader in producing the world’s most comfortable recumbent trike at an affordable price. Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, TerraTrike’s parent company, WizWheels Inc., was founded in 1996 by the efforts of Jack Wiswell and Wayne Oom. Armed with an unwavering belief in trikes as a viable business idea and a few thousand dollars they scraped together from their savings – no venture capital, bank credit or deep-pocketed friends – the duo built a company that now employs 15 full-time staff and controls over 50 percent of the recumbent trike market.
