Marmot announces the appointment of Andy Welling as the new North American Director of Sales for the company, effective October 16th, 2006. Mr. Welling will manage all aspects of company sales and distribution for Marmot in North America, including the U.S. and Canadian sales force and key accounts. Welling said of the appointment, “I am excited to be joining the Marmot team. I am also looking forward to the opportunity to leverage the Marmot brand in the outdoor industry and to further develop the relationships with the specialty retailers.â€
Welling will report to the Vice President of Sales of the Technical Apparel Platform (T.A.P.) of K2, Roanne Miller. Ms. Miller commented, “We are very excited to welcome Andy to the Marmot team. He brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge to help us continue achieving our company goal of providing the best sales service to the outdoor industry.â€
Andy has extensive sales management experience in the outdoor industry, having held positions with New England Rope, Kelty Pack, The North Face and, most recently, Patagonia. He is an active climber, skier, competitive road bike racer and an alumnus of Outward Bound and Hartwick College. He is also a former commercial fisherman out of Narragansett Bay, RI.
