Rohnert Park (CA): After an extensive professional search, Marmot is pleased to announce that Patrice Christensen has been hired as the company’s new Director of Brand. Christensen has enjoyed successful marketing management positions in CRM, digital, retail, PR, media and sports marketing spaces. “Working on great brands of varying sizes during different stages of their lifecycle has given me a uniquely strategic perspective,” Christensen states. “Having had exposure to almost every aspect of business, from sponsorship to supply chain, finance to PR, has given me a broad range of diverse experiences to tap into in this role,” she adds.
Christensen graduated from UCLA with a BA in history and a minor in business. She studied abroad in Australia for a year, exploring the continent outside her day-to-day studies. Christensen is also an athlete at heart, committed to the outdoor and fitness lifestyle. Beyond her scope of work, she can be found hiking, mountain biking, hitting the gym or yoga studio, or skiing with her family.
“While I’m active every day, I’m pretty much an outdoor enthusiast and weekend warrior. Fitness and movement is a part of who I am. And my outdoor pursuits are my balance—physically challenging myself in an environment of stillness and beauty—that’s what fills up my tank,” she explains.
When asked why she wanted to work for Marmot, Christensen responds enthusiastically, “There is something so special about this brand. You feel it when you come in the door, you feel it when you talk to people who know it—its love. The spirit of Marmot is as compelling today as it was in 1974.”
Joe Flannery, Newell Brand’s Senior Vice President and GM of Technical Apparel, adds: “Hiring Patrice was part of an extensive search. We needed to find the right person inside a new management structure to help us realize the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. Patrice has an impressive professional track record of achievements and brand building that will serve her well in her new role as Director of Brand for Marmot.”
