Marmot Mountain, LLC Announces Sales Rep Transition in Northeast

Santa Rosa, (CA): Effective May 1, 2011, John Bragg, a long-time sales representative for Marmot in the Northeast territory will be ending his representation of the company. Bragg, a world-class alpinist and dedicated outdoor enthusiast, was hired by Marmot in 1980 and was the company’s first and (to date) longest serving sales representative. Bragg is the principal of The Franconia Group based in Walpole, New Hampshire. The Franconia Group will continue to represent Scarpa and Ski Trab in New England.

“It was exciting to be there at the birth of such a great brand—to help it grow and flourish while keeping true to the core mission,” explains Bragg, who is now looking forward to pursuing his writing and climbing career. “It has been an honor to represent Marmot for so long, and it has been a privilege to work with so many wonderful people. I’m also very pleased to be working with Bill Bruzzese and Mike Schmidt of Velocity Sales of Stowe, Vermont to help transition them as the new Marmot representatives in the territory.”

“It’s been a great run and I’m sure the next years for Marmot will be equally exciting,” adds Bragg.

Commenting on the transition, Chris Hawson of Paragon Sporting Goods explained, “I’ll miss John and his excellent stewardship of the brand, but I’m sure that under his tutelage, Bill and Mike will be very capable of continuing his mission. I wish John well and hope to be seeing him at a show or on the slopes for many years to come.”

Andy Welling, Marmot’s Vice President of Sales adds, “It has been a pleasure working with John over the last five years. John is both a legendary climber and rep from the Northeast. He’s done a great job authentically representing Marmot through the years. John’s clinics and slide shows have been a favorite of many of our specialty retailers in the Northeast. We wish John all the best in the future,” adds Welling.
