How to maximize your press release on SNEWS
Help your news reach full potential with these three simple steps.
Get access to everything we publish when you sign up for Outside+.
SNEWS is the #1 place the outdoor industry goes for news. If you’re not posting your brand’s press releases here, you’re missing the boat.
But are you maximizing your exposure with each release? With just a few easy steps, your news will reach a much wider audience.
Tip #1: Share your press release on social media.
It literally takes just a few keystrokes. Either use the share tools right in the article, (see image below) or simply copy and paste the link to your social accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Eric Henderson, of Meteorite PR, knows how to work the system. He amplifies all the press releases he posts on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, by clicking the share buttons (one each for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn as seen above).
“It helps other media outlets receive the news,” he explains. He also adds a quote to make his post shine.
And don’t forget to tag any applicable companies or people in your post so they’re able to easily repost it, too.
Got a great photo to go along with it? Consider posting to Instagram with a link to your press release in your bio.
Tip #2: Consider a sponsored news press release.
Maximize your press release by upgrading to a sponsored press release.
A $500 spend will get you these perks:
Home page position: We’ll feature your news on our home page in the “Latest News” section surrounded by our editorial content for a minimum of 24 hours.
Newsletter spotlight: We’ll highlight your news in one of our three weekly newsletters.

Social media push: We’ll promote your press release on Facebook and Twitter, 1 post each.

To boost your post, you’ll need to send us a clean copy of the press release in a Word document and two (unique) quality photos, both under 3 mb. One must be 300 pixels wide x 250 pixels tall for inclusion in our newsletter. The other can be any ratio as long as it’s horizontal.
Contact Scott Monte (SMonte@aimmedia.com) if you’re interested.
Tip #3: Nail the photo and logo.
Images in posts are scaled to fit the available horizontal space.
Images can be:
· 320px wide (640px retina)
· 620px wide (1240px retina)
· 700px wide (400px retina)
· 780px wide (1560px retina)
Only one photo can be submitted on the form. If you need an additional photo submitted, e-mail Scott Monte (SMonte@aimmedia.com).
