McNett Smart Suds Gains EPA Design for the Environment Certification

McNett, the industry leader in gear care and repair products, has earned the EPA Design for the Environment (DfE) certification for its new Smart Suds biodegradable camp soap.

The first camp soap to ever receive the certification, Smart Suds biodegrades rapidly through soil microbe action while remaining free of harsh perfumes, dyes or harsh cleaning agents.

According to the EPA, “Product manufacturers who become DfE partners, and earn the right to display the DfE logo on recognized products, have invested heavily in research and development, to ensure that their ingredients and finished product line up on the green end of the health and environmental spectrum, while maintaining or improving product performance. The DfE label is only approved when a product is best in its class.”

The approval comes at the end of a year of important environmental strides for McNett. In 2008, the company began purchasing 100% green power for its Bellingham, WA headquarters.
