INDEPENDENCE, VA—Med-Fit Systems, Inc., manufacturer of the Nautilus commercial products, announced today that an agreement has been reached to purchase substantially all of the assets of SportKAT LLC early next month.
The move will expand its employment level and offer a broader range of fitness equipment to its customers.
SportKAT is a 20-year-old FDA regulated computerized balance assessment and training equipment company based in Vista, CA. The line features a proprietary inflatable bladder and touch screen computer control facilitating various levels of instability used to test and train visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive response.
Their complete line of balance products assist in both physical and neurological rehabilitation, including areas such as: fall reduction, neurosensory rehabilitation, vestibular balance training, proprioceptive re-education, dizziness, disequilibrium and vertigo.
“Purchasing of the SportKAT Company provides us with a platform to fulfill our mission statement- providing products and programming to serve the entire wellness continuum,” stated Dean Sbragia, CEO of Med-Fit Systems, Inc.
“In addition, The SportKAT and Korebalance products provide us with an enhanced technology and IP portfolio which will augment our commitment to provide cutting edge products and programming to the commercial fitness, rehabilitation, athletic training and senior fitness markets. The Korebalance product line will enhance our ability to service and expand upon the over 1,000 long term care facilities utilizing Nautilus strength products to improve patient function and reduce cost of care.”
Med-Fit Systems plans to add the production of the new products it will offer to its Independence, VA manufacturing facility and will add the Southern California based employees to its Fallbrook, CA office.
Acquisition is slated for completion on December 1, 2011.
Med-Fit Systems,Inc. is a twenty-three year old physical therapy and senior care products provider located in Southern California. On February 19, 2010, the company purchased the assets of the commercial fitness equipment division from Nautilus, Inc.
