MERCURYcsc launches Think T+O™
Bozeman-based creative agency will unveil nationwide research effort at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market.
BOZEMAN, Mont. — MercuryCSC is launching Think T+O™, a proprietary toolkit that will allow brands in the Travel and Outdoor industries to better understand the Geotraveler, the rapidly growing group of consumers who bridge the Travel and Outdoor core markets. To launch Think T+O, MERCURYcsc is throwing a party at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market on Thursday, August 7 at Hotel Monaco in Salt Lake City from 5:30 – 7 p.m.
“The landscape in the Travel and Outdoor industries is rapidly changing,” explains Maclaren Latta, MERCURYcsc’s VP of consumer insights. “A growing group of consumers are seeking experiences rather than just stuff to buy, and adventure, authenticity and personalization instead of of all-inclusive resorts.”
Think T+O is a set of resources built on Mercury’s extensive knowledge of the Geotraveler. Think T+O is centered around the T+O Forum, a proprietary research panel of more than 1,000 people around the world who fit the Geotraveler profile. These carefully selected individuals are passionate about travel and spending time in the outdoors. They take an average of five leisure trips per year, spend more than $600 annually on outdoor gear specifically for their travel plans, like to explore with friends and family, and use travel and outdoor activities to improve their emotional, spiritual and physical health and well-being.
“The Forum allows us to crowdsource consumer feedback, and conduct in-depth research for our clients,” says Latta.
Through Think T+O, MERCURYcsc has found a potentially groundbreaking way forward for Outdoor brands.
“The Outdoor industry has traditionally focused on amateur outdoor athletes as their core audience, but our research has shown that this group of traveler-adventurers are a much larger core audience for Outdoor brands than we ever thought,” says Latta. “And Think T+O gives us the ability to connect this growing group of consumers directly to brands in the Travel and Outdoor industries.”
