Metolius Sponsors Youth Climbing League

Bend, Ore. (Jan. 10, 2014) – For the third year in a row, Metolius Climbing is set to sponsor the Youth Climbing League (YCL), the longest-running indoor climbing competition league in California. Metolius’ support will include gear, giveaways, and funding for the competitions, which run from January 13 – March 1, 2014.
Since 1996, the YCL has been organizing competitions for kids throughout California. Run by Andy Puhvel and Lisa Coleman, the YCL gets kids aged 7 to 18 climbing in a supportive, but competitive environment. The kids are divided by age and compete in top-roping and bouldering competitions. While it is a competition, the YCL’s ultimate goal is to help foster young people’s passion for climbing.
