Seattle, WA – Seattle-based MiiR, pioneer of the Product to Project™ movement where every product sold funds a trackable giving project, announced today it has appointed Nick MacPhee as its Chief Impact Officer. MacPhee, an experienced business and philanthropy executive, is an investor in the company and was semi-retired before taking on the newly created role of overseeing the MiiR Give, a program which gives 5 percent of revenue to giving projects around the world. The projects focus on supporting: health through clean water, sanitation, and hygiene programs; education through funding the building schools in impoverished regions; and mobility through domestic and international bike programs.

“Nick literally and whole-heartedly invested in the vision of MiiR in 2015 and also agreed to serve as an advisor,” says MiiR CEO and founder Bryan Papé. “As the company evolved and grew, it was obvious through our many discussions that Nick had a lot more to give to the company with his expertise in working with socially responsible companies and experience in partnering with non-profits to effect change. We are thrilled to have him join our team to shape the MiiR Give program.” Nick will also have responsibility for employee engagement around its giving programs, and its certified B Corp activity.

Before working with MiiR, MacPhee served as the managing director of the Laird Norton Family Foundation, a Seattle area funder of environment, education, and clean water programs from 2008 to 2010. He worked at Microsoft from 1993 to 2000 in real estate and corporate services, where he most recently held role of Vice President of worldwide operations. He also worked in a variety of roles, culminating as the Vice President of special investments at Coldwell Banker Commercial from 1981 to 1993.

A philanthropist at heart and in practice, MacPhee was a pro-bono consultant for the Medina Foundation and the Land Trust Alliance, as well as a founder of Friends of the Children of King County. He has served on several boards including the San Juan Preservation Trust and the Crisis Clinic.

MacPhee said, “I could see that Bryan was building a company based on great people, amazing products, and an incredible mission to create a new business model using market-based solutions to empower others around the world. I want to be a part of making that happen.”
