MiiR Auctioning Off Hand Painted Water Bottle by Artist Dale Chihuly

Seattle, WA – Seattle company MiiR is auctioning off a one-of-a-kind hand painted water bottle by local artist Dale Chihuly, with all proceeds going to MiiR’s giving partner One Day’s Wages. Bidding for this one-of-a-kind bottle will be hosted on ebay (http://tinyurl.com/3hveb2b) starting on July 25th and ending on July 29 at 10:30 p.m. in conjunction with MiiR’s benefit screening of their documentary film “Beyond the Bottle.” Directed by celebrity photographer and filmmaker John Keatley, “Beyond the Bottle” is a film about MiiR’s beginnings and their efforts to help solve the clean water crisis. The event will be held on Friday, July 29 starting at 8:30 p.m. at the evo store in Fremont. It is open to the public, with a $5 suggested donation to One Day’s Wages at the door.

MiiR was founded in 2010 with a commitment to making bottles that are functional, reusable, and completely safe for consumption. Another large part of MiiR’s mission is to give back to the community, which is why MiiR Founder and CEO Bryan Papé, a graduate of Seattle Pacific University, has incorporated the MiiR one4one program into his business model. One4one allocates one dollar from every bottle purchased to the purchase of clean water in underdeveloped countries.

“Nearly a billion people struggle to survive everyday because they don’t have access to clean, safe drinking water,” says Papé. “One dollar of each MiiR bottle purchased provides one person with clean water for one year. Roughly $5,000 can build a freshwater well in a village and provide 250+ people with clean drinking water for 20 years.”

Papé and the MiiR team recently traveled to Liberia, Africa to document the building of their first well. Thus the birth of the documentary “Beyond the Bottle.” Additional prints from the trip by John Keatley will also be auctioned off on the night of the screening.
