Red Wing, MN – Keeping their promise to bring performance footwear to outdoor enthusiasts, Vasque is debuting the European-inspired, full-grain leather, Eriksson GTX in Fall 2014. Named for the famed explorer, Leif Eriksson, Vasque uses advanced technology to increase user comfort in a backpacking boot without compromising the performance needed on the trail.
The Eriksson GTX is comprised of a three-part midsole including an EVA footbed, PU heel cup and a TPU chassis that runs the length of the boot. This combination means better cushioning underfoot plus the torsional rigidity needed by backpackers. A higher leather cuff with PU foam means added stability and more comfort for backpackers who are traveling longer distances and carrying heavier loads.
In addition to the technical midsole, Vasque has updated its exclusive Summit outsole to blend traditional lug geometry with a more fluid, organic lug technology, leading to a lighter weight design that has added traction and provides a more natural gait while hiking. The Eriksson GTX upper comes equipped with a Gore-tex® liner that guarantees durable, waterproof, breathability and dry feet even on the wettest of days. MSRP $219.99.
