Momentum Media PR Opens Doors in Boulder, Hires Jess Higgins

Momentum Media PR, a Boston-based public relations agency specializing in the outdoor, snowsports, fitness, travel, and lifestyle markets, announces the official opening of its office in Boulder, CO. The new office, located in the heart of Boulder at 2475 Broadway, has been operational since January of 2007 and will serve as Momentum’s western hub. Establishing a presence in Boulder enables the agency to work closely with the many outdoor and snow sports media and influencers based in and around the “Bubble”, while maintaining a Boston office allows the firm to maintain its proximity to the media- rich hub of New York and numerous publications based in the Northeast.

Momentum, known for bringing emerging and established outdoor and lifestyle brands to the forefront of their markets and mainstream media, has been operating from its Boston office since 2001. With a steadily growing client roster, the accessibility of near-by media and the proximity to climbing, skiing, and endless running trails made Boulder a natural choice for a satellite office.

Momentum has also signed a new Account Executive, Jess Higgins, who brings seven years of journalism and hands-on outdoor industry experience to the Momentum team. Prior to joining Momentum, Higgins spent three years as Events, Education, and Outreach Coordinator at Silverton Mountain Ski Area, where she developed and marketed large scale events, championed media outreach, and created college accredited courses. As both a staff and freelance writer, she has been published in national magazines including Powder and Trail Runner, and covered news for the Valdez Vanguard in Valdez, Alaska, and the Teton Valley News in Driggs, ID. Her coverage of 9/11 for the Vanguard won “Best Breaking News Story” by the Alaska Press Association.

No stranger to the outdoors, Higgins gained practical outdoor experience as lead instructor for the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School based in her home state of Maine for over three years, where she taught sailing and climbing. From years of journalism, Higgins is a pitching pro, thinking creatively and crafting story ideas that speak to editors and land meaningful coverage.
