Montrail® Honors the 08/09 Ultra Cup Winners;

Richmond, Calif. (July 23, 2009) – Montrail, a leading manufacturer of trail-inspired footwear, honored today the winners of the 08/09 Montrail Ultra Cup and announced the 09/10 race schedule including five new races and new scoring and guidelines for the Ultra Cup Championship.

At a special ceremony at the Summer Outdoor Retailer Trade Show, Victor Ballesteros and Jenny Capel were publicly honored for winning the prestigious Montrail Ultra Cup Championship after finishing the grueling Western States 100 on June 28, 2009. The award ceremony coincided with the official unveiling of the 09/10 Ultra Cup race schedule, which will include five new races across the country. Additionally, adjustments have been made to both the series guidelines and the scoring system to encourage participation and increase competition for all runners.

“With the addition of five new races, the series will now have a broader and more national scope. We wanted it to be accessible to more runners and after significant feedback from athletes, race directors and retailers, we’ve expanded the series and updated the scoring and guidelines for the Montrail Ultra Cup,” said Montrail Promotions Coordinator Jesse Malman.
