Mountain Hardwear Design Dept. Sees New Faces and Roles

Mountain Hardwear Inc. has announced several new appointments within the company’s product development team. New product managers include Tracey Mammolito, Dan Ramos and Chris Hilliard.

Mountain Hardwear Inc. has announced several new appointments within the company’s product development team.

Tracey Mammolito is new to the team and has accepted the position of Mountainwear product manager. Prior to her move to Mountain Hardwear’s San Francisco Bay Area office, Mammolito held the position of senior designer/product manager at Danskin and Liz Claiborne in New York City. Mammolito holds degrees from the Fashion Institute of Technology and the University of Delaware where she studied computer aided design. “With over 12 years in the sportswear and activewear industries, Tracey brings a strong background in design and product line management, as well as an outstanding team-oriented approach to her work”, said Ted Ganio, Mountain Hardwear’s director of merchandising to whom all Product Manager’s report.

Dan Ramos has accepted the newly established position of accessories product manager. Ramos’ responsibilities include managing the categories of gloves, hats, base layer, and gaiters. He was promoted to his new position after two years with Mountain Hardwear as a design associate. Ramos holds a degree in apparel design and merchandising from the College of Alameda and prior to Mountain Hardwear he was employed as an apparel designer and product manager at Sierra Designs. “Mountain Hardwear’s accessory program has grown from a few add-on pieces to over 70 styles so I am thrilled to have Dan’s dedicated focus to this area”, said Ganio.

In order to keep up with the expanding product line in Mountain Hardwear’s equipment division, product management roles in that area have been realigned. Chris Hilliard has been promoted from the assistant product manager for Equipment to the new role of product manager for tents and bags. Prior to Mountain Hardwear Hilliard worked in multiple equipment product development positions at Eastern Mountain Sports.

Erik Hamerschlag will continue to oversee and focus exclusively on the newly developed pack program including the company’s celebrated Exodus TM backpacks. Hamerschlag has been a product manager at Mountain Hardwear since 2002. Prior to Mountain Hardwear he was CEO for Osprey Packs.

“I am excited to have such a solid design team as we move forward with the Fall 07 and Spring 08 lines”, said Mike Wallenfels, president of Mountain Hardwear. “With Ted Ganio in the lead and product management in place, the opportunity to focus on innovation across all product categories will make our expectations a reality.”
