Mountain Hardwear's HyperLamina Spark Wins Backpacker Editors' Choice Award

Richmond, Calif. (January 26, 2015) – Mountain Hardwear, Inc., an outdoor industry leader in product innovation, was recognized at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market this week with the prestigious Backpacker Magazine Editors’ Choice Award for the HyperLamina Spark sleeping bag.

The Editors’ Choice Award is given annually to products in recognition of their outstanding innovation in design, materials and performance. All winners must excel under extensive field-testing conducted by Backpacker’s team of editors who take hundreds of products into the backcountry to put them to the test.

“From the zoned insulation normally found only in down bags to the heat-saving welded construction, the HyperLamina series was designed to set a new standard for synthetic bag performance, said Topher Gaylord, President of Mountain Hardwear. “We’re honored that Backpacker’s editors agree.”

The HyperLamina Spark sleeping bag was designed to be the highest performing synthetic sleeping bag on the market. The HyperLamina Spark features Lamina welded baffle construction and zoned Thermal.Q Elite insulation that maximizes warmth where it’s needed most.

The HyperLamina was also awarded a Gear Institute Best New Gear and GearJunkie.com’s Best in Show at the last OR show in August. The HyperLamina sleeping bag series will be available to consumers beginning in February.

At Outdoor Retailer, Mountain Hardwear also received a Best in Class Award from the Gear Institute for its Skyledge 3 tent.
