Golden, CO – Mountainsmith—craftsmen of iconic backcountry equipment and recreational outdoor gear—is celebrating the American Alpine Club at the Summer Outdoor Retailer Show for the sixth year in a row. Back by popular demand and Mountainsmith’s continued commitment to the AAC, the highly anticipated Backpack and Brews Benefit will take place on Thursday, August 6th from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Mountainsmith booth #20015. Partygoers can expect cold brews and show only deals on new 2016 Mountainsmith Scream packs, all proceeds benefitting the American Alpine Club.

“Mountainsmith’s continued commitment to the American Alpine Club affords the AAC the funding needed to protect our lands, educate both novice and world class climbers, and conserve the lands on which we all recreate,” says Mountainsmith president Jay Getzel. “ As our entire industry strives to capture the hearts and minds of the ever growing and changing outdoor consumer, The American Alpine Club and its exceptional team are vital to sharing our message and inspiring adventure.”
New 2016 limited edition American Alpine Club Scream 25 backpacks, which retail for $79.95, will be sold for $40.00 (cash only). 200 packs will be sold in three waves at 4:30, 5:00, and 5:30. Proceeds have nearly doubled the past 4 years Mountainsmith has hosted this favorite OR event. Swing by and help the team make another generous contribution and grab a free Mountainsmith koozie and PBR tallboy while you’re at it!

The action continues with a business card raffle at 5:30pm on Thursday. Show attendees can stop by the Mountainsmith booth any time Wednesday or Thursday to drop off their biz card for a chance to win an AAC membership and Mountainsmith gear.
