BOULDER, CO — June 6, 2011 — Move Sport, Inc., of Boulder, Colorado has been named the exclusive distributor of Vredestein Two Wheel Tires for the United States and Canada.
Vredestein draws on a wealth of experience as a manufacturer of high-end bicycle tires, as 2011 marks the 101st anniversary of the Dutch brand’s origins as a cycle tire manufacturer. Vredestein has won numerous prizes at the highest levels of the sport in both road and mountain bike racing, including world titles, Olympic medals and victories in classic races, semi-classics and major tours. Currently Vredestein is the official tire of the Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team and the Rabobank-Giant Offroad Team.
Move Sport was founded three years ago by Susan Eastman Walton, also co-founder of Inside Communications (former publisher of VeloNews), to develop and market the RecoFit brand of compression products. When the opportunity arose with Vredestein, she and husband Hugh Walton, founder of DashAmerica/Pearl Izumi and manager of numerous cycling industry brands with recent tenure at Veltec Sports, jumped at the chance to add another brand to her company. Hugh will manage the Vredestein brand for Move Sport.
Marc Ganzeboom, Manager of Marketing and Sales of Vredestein Two Wheel Tires, said, “Hugh brings passion, enthusiasm, a distinguished industry history and extensive contacts with both customers and sales agents. Move Sport is exactly what we are looking for to take Vredestein to the next level.”
Hugh said, “I’ve been an enthusiastic user of Vredestein tires for several years. As a racer, I’d grown up using tubulars. Here’s a company that makes the world’s finest clinchers that feel and ride like tubulars. That really impressed me from the start. The range of products, from road racing and training to mountain, cyclocross and commuter is just fantastic, with more to come. It’s a great company and we are honored to be working with the team at Vredestein.”
Move Sport will begin shipping a wide range of racing, training, commuter and MTB tires immediately through an extensive network of sales agents throughout the country. Vredestein has embarked upon an aggressive product development strategy aimed at continually strengthening its offering in all categories.
Move Sport has moved rapidly and decisively to build a powerful independent sales agent network for Vredestein tires. Interested dealers can contact Move Sport at 720-440-9007 or by email at info@Vredesteinbike.com to find out more about who their sales agent is, to place orders and make general inquiries.
