MSR® Introduces FreeLite™ Freestanding Double-Wall Tent Series

New line represents MSR’s lightest freestanding double-wall tents 

SEATTLE, WA(July 21, 2015) — MSR® (Mountain Safety Research®) announced today its new FreeLite™ series – the lightest, double-walled freestanding tents in the MSR lineup – for the advanced outdoor adventurer who demands livability, efficiency, and reliability. The FreeLite series was designed to support a diverse range of adventurers including climbers, cyclists, kayakers, and backpackers on multiday trips due to its light weight yet highly liveable layout. The series achieves its weight savings via a unique pole geometry and material makeup.

Available in one, two, and three-person models, the FreeLite series offers fully featured, three-season protection and superior livability at 1 lb. 13 oz., 2 lb. 6 oz., and 3 lb. 4 oz., respectively. The FreeLite 2 features a 29-square-foot floor, a spacious 30-cubic-foot interior, and an expanded mesh interior for increased ventilation. Two large 14.5-cubic-foot vestibules provide extra protection over the doors while allowing for unobstructed views.

All FreeLite tents feature high-performance DuraShield-coated 10D nylon walls and 15D nylon floors for added weight savings while taped seams and reinforced stress points offer lasting protection. Large doors provide easy access to spacious interiors for comfort and convenience on longer backcountry trips and the micromesh canopies offer maximum ventilation, moisture control, and skylight views, along with bug-free protection.

MSR’s new FreeLite collection will debut at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in August 2015 and will be available online and in stores starting January 2016.
