SEATTLE, Wash. (July 19, 2018)— Seattle-based Mountain Safety Research(MSR), introduces the AutoFlowXL 10 L Gravity Filter, which provides a clean water supply for larger groups quickly and efficiently. Ultralight and supremely packable, it offers the luxury of pump-free group filtration for parties of four or more.
“Gravity filters are a great way to filter water with the least amount of effort, and the new larger AutoFlow allows you to take fewer trips to the water source,” Owen Mesdag, MSR category manager for water treatment, said. “The new 3-dimensional 10 L reservoir lets you effortlessly store and filter water as needed, then it packs down to a compact size.”
Using gravity to filter 1.75 L per minute, the AutoFlow filter allows campers to perform other activities like cooking or cleaning while their water filters. Its ultra-compact storage and packing design allows it to roll up tightly and efficiently saving precious space in your pack.
MSR’s Engineering and Design Ensures Durability and Reliability
The AutoFlow XL’s design benefits from MSR’s trusted engineering and deep expertise in water treatment science. Like all MSR filters, its hollow fiber filter meets NSF protocol P231 for removal of bacteria and protozoa from beginning to end of filter life, providing reliably clean water on backcountry adventures. For durability, the AutoFlow XL’s film reservoir is constructed with RF-welded seams. Inside, its food-grade lining ensures better tasting water.
The filter can be easily cleaned in the field with no tools required, allowing users to regain its fast flow rates quickly and easily. Other features include a prefilter, a sediment trap and a universal wide-mouth bottle adapter. The AutoFlow XL is poised to be the industry standard for delivering an effective, reliable and easily maintainable filtration source for clean water for larger groups and expeditions—parties that already have plenty to think about on big adventures in the backcountry.
