Mystery Ranch and Organic Co-Create Backcountry Climbing Pad

Pad Debuting at Joe’s Valley Festival

MYSTERY RANCH, the industry-leading pack company, based in Montana, and ORGANIC, a manufacturer of US-built bouldering crash pads have announced a collaboration to bring safety and comfort to backcountry bouldering. MYSTERY RANCH, known for providing uncompromising comfort in load carriage, has supplied its adjustable yoke harnessing system to ORGANIC’s Backcountry Pad, giving the user the ability to adjust their yoke to the length their torso, and allowing the pad to be comfortably hauled into remote climbing locations.

“As individuals search to develop new boulder areas, or access established areas higher in the alpine, getting there with a more comfortable fit, with all the gear sandwiched in between the pad loading them down, the harnessing will be a welcome enhancement,” says Josh Helke, Owner of Organic.

“Adding the MYSTERY RANCH harness to Organic’s crash pad, drastically improved the experience of hauling 40 or 50 pounds of gear several miles into the backcountry,” says Ryan Holm, MYSTERY RANCH Marketing Manager, and a seasoned backcountry climber. “Cleaning kit, shoes/chalk, food, foldable ladder, camping gear, stick brush, and more can be stashed inside the folded pad, just keep adding what you need.”

The Backcountry Pad will make its public debut at the 3rd Annual Joe’s Valley Fest sponsored by both MYSTERY RANCH and ORGANIC on October 20-22, 2017. Located in Orangeville, in central Utah, the climbing festival unites visiting climbers and the local community to celebrate the land, learn about local history and lore, participate in climbing clinics, photography classes, yoga, local cowboy games and more. The Backcountry Pad will be used during the climbing clinics at the festival, and those interested in purchasing their own pad can place orders at the festival.
