Bozeman, MT. (July 22, 2018) – MYSTERY RANCH, the industry-leading pack company built on a heritage of comfortable load carriage, function and durability for people who have a mission to accomplish, will unveil their new Spring 19 Expedition packs at the Outdoor Retailer summer tradeshow this July. The Expedition line has been updated with advanced performance materials and the new Astral frame that carry on the brand’s legacy for building the best load bearing packs in the world.
The new rendition of the Glacier (71L) features all of the Expedition Series updates. From fit and sizing to fabric and frame, it offers superior Load Carriage™ and comfort for your long weekend outing as well as more extended backcountry trips. It’s a top-loading pack with a dual draw cord shroud to increase weather resistance and allow for upward expansion. Our Speedzip™ sleeping bag compartment will accommodate even the warmest, bulkiest bag. The lid has two compartments for Type-A organization and is easily converted to a summit pack by transferring the main pack’s harnessing over to the lid.
The new Astral frame is the core feature of these packs, which consists of four vertical stays and engineered targeted points of flex and torsional rigidity that are fundamental to the structure of the pack and optimal weight transfer. The two vertical stays on the outside keep the outer edge of the frame stiff while the two, inner vertical stays flex with your body, resulting in top-down load transfer into the lumbar section of the belt and optimal Load Carriage™. The Astral frame makes its debut on the following classic MYSTERY RANCH packs: Men’s and Women’s Glacier, Terraplane, and T100.
