MYSTERY RANCH’s SADDLE PEAK Pack Earns Outside Magazine’s Gear Of The Year Award

Saddle Peak is One of Four New Snow Oriented Packs for 2017

Bozeman, MT. – October 16, 2017

MYSTERY RANCH, the industry-leading pack company, is honored to announce the Outside Buyer’s Guide magazine’s editors have awarded the SADDLE PEAK with its prestigious Gear of the Year award for the Pack category. The editors report that it is “just right for side country day trips” and “the adjustable torso length is one of the best we’ve seen”, a feature which is attributed to the patented MYSTERY RANCH form-fitting molded adjuster, found an all the brand’s adjustable packs.

“The new SADDLE PEAK, available with both men’s and women’s harnessing, melds all we’ve learned over many winters of testing and perfecting our ideal do-it-all pack,” says Ben Nobel, MYSTERY RANCH sales manager, and Bozeman based snow safety instructor. “Having simple, easy access to a shovel and probe for rescue was critical, as was creating the most bomber ski/board carry we’ve ever made. We wanted the Saddle Peak to be compressible enough to fit on a lift, yet have enough capacity for a full day tour.”

The pack is one of four snow specific packs introduced this season ranging in size from 15 to 45 liters to accommodate everything from snow safety & patrol, to hut trips and lift accessed backcountry. The PATROL 45 and 35 can carry snowboards or skis, and the main compartment of the pack can be fully accessed from the body panel when skis or a board are strapped to the front. The compact 15-liter D-ROUTE was named for a favorite lift accessed zone at Bridger Bowl ski area where the MYSTERY RANCH team can often be found on powder mornings before heading into the office.

With the reintroduction of snow specific packs, MYSTERY RANCH will add two skiers to the brand’s ambassador team later this month. Stay tuned for our announcement.
