Cortez, Colo. – (Dec. 7, 2009) ¬- Osprey Packs, Inc, an independent pack company located in the high desert and mountains of Southwestern Colorado, is proud to announce that Osprey’s Hydraulics™ Raptor 6 pack was awarded “Best of Adventure” in the December/January issue National Geographic Adventure.

The annual edition features 26 innovative products for the upcoming year. The elected Best of Adventure gear pieces are nominated by ultimate gear experts; a panel of 34 leading outdoor retailers in the nation and the editors of National Geographic Adventure. The editorial and board’s expert decisions are based on product innovation and consumer excitement in the marketplace.

Debuting in Spring 2010 at retail, Osprey Hydraulics™ will change the way people hydrate on the trails. Osprey combines proven pack design expertise in carry, comfort and fit with a proprietary hydration system in the new collection. The fundamentals of Osprey’s technology are simple, yet significant:

• Eliminate poor fit and carry through Osprey design, fit and sizing

• Allow and enable dynamic movement

• Create an efficient system for inserting and removing the reservoir

• Properly compress the reservoir for consistent water delivery

• Eliminate barreling

• Reduce sloshing

• Allow for gear storage despite full reservoir

Two series debut the Osprey Hydraulics™ collection in Spring 2010: the Manta Series consist of three styles and the Raptor Series consists of four styles. The winning Raptor 6 pack offers a six-liter pack capacity recommended for light hiking, trail running and mountain biking. National Geographic Adventure reported:

“The pack’s patent-pending HydraLock system compresses the reservoir to prevent the liquid from splashing and the water pressure from dropping, so every sip will feel like it’s coming from the tap,”
