Seasonal Collection Available Beginning in March 2018
PORTLAND, OREG. – July 26, 2017

Portland-based apparel brand Nau builds its Spring-Summer 2018 collection with lightweight, versatile essentials designed for warm weather layering. Drawing inspiration from those unexpected moments experienced along travel to a destination, the new range brings together complementary colors, weather resistant materials and subtle performance details to help face all adventures. The seasonal color palette brings in shades from blue skies, colorful floral hues and rich topographical tones. The colors are blended into intricate yarn dyes and subtle heathers to capture the beautiful nuances of texture, light and colors that unfold from natural landscapes. Ranging in price from $48.00 to $350.00, the Nau Spring-Summer 2018 collection will be available beginning in March 2018 at the brand’s Portland flagship, select specialty retailers and online at www.nau.com.
OUTERWEAR
In Spring-Summer 2018, Nau will debut the Flex Commute Jacket, a technical shell built from a new three-layer waterproof, breathable knit fabric. The fabrication binds a laminated fine-gauge four-way stretch face fabric to a soft jersey-knit backing to create a high performance hardshell with the comfort of one’s favorite hoody. Incredibly soft and surprisingly lightweight, the knit construction allows for natural stretch and breathability. The Flex Commute is fully seam sealed and features a partially recycled polyester build with a PFC-free weatherproofing treatment. The stretch hood zips into the collar and chest vents are built for forward movement. Additional features include: a back yoke with box pleat, rear snap up reflective panel, and adjustments at the hem. The Flex Commute Jacket will be available in fits for men and women in high visibility blue and orange colors, as well as black.
Nau introduces its take on the timeless style of denim workwear, updated with the durability and performance of hemp. The unlined hemp and organic cotton blend of the Kush Utility Blazer for men and the Kush Jean Jacket for women lends to soft and lightweight wear. The men’s blazer is inspired by Japanese work jackets, while the women’s version features traditional denim jacket styling. Both pieces are uncomplicated, yet finely finished, making them perfect for spring layering. The men’s blazer has a center back hem vent for freedom of movement and double entry hand pockets and a zipper chest pocket for quick access to essentials. The women’s jacket is equipped with two chest pockets, two front hand pockets and metal tack buttons for easy layering.
Nau rounds its seasonal outerwear collection with updated fits and expanded colors in its popular Slight Collection. The brand’s lightest outerwear range, the Slight Collection is designed at the sweet spot between windbreaker and technical soft-shell. Though delicate in appearance, a PFC-free treated, variegated ripstop fabric provides durability, repels wind and rain, shades summer sun, and travels easily packed into their own pockets. The Slight Jacket for women is updated in a long fit silhouette with an internal drawcord adjustment at the waist. The new model also features a full zip front placket with a protective wind flap, an attached drawcord hood and a triangle inset at the side seam for flattering wear. The Slight Jacket and Slight Shirt for women will be introduced in new seasonal orange hue, Mango. The top selling men’s pieces will see an added high visibility red-orange color, Cayenne.
APPAREL
In addition to its outerwear expansions, Nau will grow its apparel offering with versatile modern basics in its top, bottom and dress categories. The Basis Collection, a capsule of easy-to-wear organic cotton tops, sees the addition of new silhouettes and striped patterns for women and men. The Basis Tank Stripe for women is a sophisticated take on the simplest of silhouettes. The ideal foundation for summer layering, the tank is updated with a soft enzyme-washed slub-knit, side vents and a pleat at the front center for the perfect combination of comfort, breathability and flattering fit. Other new Basis pieces for women include the Basis Capsleeve T-Shirt, an essential tee with a rounded V-neck collar, cap sleeves and slight A-line hem, and the Basis L/S Boatneck Shirt, a slouchy style draped in a relaxed casual cut. For men, Nau will introduce updated fits and colors to the S/S Basis T-Shirt and the S/S Basis Polo, a modern reimagining of an athletic classic.
Nau will also expand its top offering with new woven options for women and men. The Capsleeve Crosswired Shirt is a new shirting style that brings a refined approach to the classic western capsleeve shirt for women. Organic cotton is blended with a touch of hemp to provide lightweight breathability for warm weather adventures. The men’s version, the S/S Crosswired Shirt, features the same organic cotton-hemp blend, with a tailored fit and asymmetric pocket flap detail bringing added interest to the traditional woven design.
To complement its updates in shirting and layering essentials, Nau adds new bottom styles to its collection of seasonal basics. The Stretch Motil Pull-On Short for women features the brand’s most technical summer-weight short fabric, a blend of recycled polyester and organic cotton with a PFC-free finish for quick drying and a touch of stretch for active movement. The men’s collection welcomes a new clean and refined silhouette with the Pentacle Short, a modern five-pocket jean design crafted with a lightweight twill fabric. The short features a durable yet lightweight organic cotton twill construction with added stretch for comfort and movement. With dedicated fits for men and women, the Daytrippen Chino Pant is Nau’s take on the classic chino and is designed for daily commutes and everyday movement. The organic cotton twill fabric is complete with binded seams and an element of stretch, while the pocketing keeps contents secure. The women’s version boasts a classic
1950’s look, with a front pleat and a cropped, ankle-length design.
Nau rounds out its apparel collection with new silhouettes in its top selling dress category for women. The Asym Tank Dress combines a fitted top with a flattering drape resulting in a versatile dress with an athletic edge. Soft brushed shoulder straps and a built-in shelf bra add comfort, while two hidden hand pockets provide everyday utility. Comfortable to wear and easy to layer, the Wrapture Dress boasts subtle Grecian-inspired styling with a flattering elastic waist and soft knit stretch. Blending organic cotton and hemp into a breathable blend, the Straight Up Sleeveless Dress is soft, lightweight and built for movement. An A-line shape and hidden button front provide a clean and sophisticated look. The S/S Twisted Dress features traditional shirtdress styling with the upgraded benefit of sun protection integrated into its Tencel® fabrication. A self-fabric waist tie and back yoke with box pleat lend to a flattering fit.
