New Silhouettes Available Beginning in August 2014
(PORTLAND, OR) January 22, 2014― In Fall-Winter 2014, Nau introduces an expanded line of outerwear and apparel that highlights the design principles of style, performance and innovation. The largest women’s offering from the brand to date, the resulting collection fuses functionality and femininity, providing a mix of fashion-forward outdoor gear and performance-inherent lifestyle wear that transitions wherever adventure leads. The seasonal collection also debuts a range of sustainable materials, including new cold weather-appropriate wools and Cocona® insulated blends. Ranging in price from $50.00 to $450.00, the Fall-Winter 2014 collection will be available beginning in August 2014 at specialty retailers and at www.nau.com.
In Fall-Winter 2014, Nau integrates technical fabrications, performance details and distinguished silhouettes into a series of outerwear and apparel fit for active use and every day wear. As part of this integrated offering, Nau will introduce an 80-20 wool and nylon blend fabrication to its outerwear collection. Using recycled wool as a staple material in winter silhouettes, Nau has created a collection of outerwear that provides natural insulation with the ability to breathe and wick moisture with varying activities and intensity levels. The blazer-inspired Transporter Jacket, ideal for commuting, utilizes this new wool-blend material with an added DWR treatment for wind and water protection. An asymmetrical five-button closure, a button-up collar and carefully placed pockets lend to a clean and sophisticated design.
The wool-blend fabrication is also used in the Fader Plaid Jacket. The fully lined piece is a lighter weight option than the Transporter Jacket, but features the same protective performance features, including: a DWR finish and high collar with snap closure for weather resistance. A bold, two-tone plaid pattern combined with tonal paneling and shaped sleeves provide a fashionable piece to transcend from the commute to the office.
In the upcoming season, Nau also debuts a merino wool felt fabrication that combines the breathability of merino wool with the amplified windproof qualities of a durable felt. The fabrication is used in a new lifestyle insulation silhouette, the Felt Up Jacket. This utilitarian-inspired piece features a cropped length with raw-edge lapped seams, a cross-over front snap closure and a structured flared hem. Additional details include: two front zip pockets and slit sleeve cuffs.
Nau also builds out its Fall-Winter 2014 collection with streamlined insulations, performance dresses and stylized layering pieces. In the insulation category, the Synfill Asym Jacket fuses high-tech features with an urban aesthetic, providing a versatile trench option fit for both the outdoors and city streets. A washed finish provides a soft hand and matte look, while an off-set zipper closure, high collar and elongating silhouette bring feminine details. The trench is lightly insulated with Cocona® for quick drying properties and odor management.
Maintaining a balance between femininity and technicality, Nau expands its performance dress offering with versatile options for biking, hiking and every daywear. A new silhouette and statement piece from the category, the Tech-Nique Dress blends recycled polyester and polyester stretch woven fabrications for light weather protection and free range of motion. A high cut collar, asymmetrical stitching and hemlines provide fashion-forward elements. Additional details include: an exposed metal hand zip pocket, an exposed metal back zip pocket and cross-over sleeve cuffs that can fold up or snap down.
As part of the performance dress category, Nau launches a new fabrication, Randy Goat. The Randy Goat material has a heathered merino wool face and a recycled polyester fleece lining for a smooth feel against the skin. The fabrication will make its debut in the Randy Goat Dress for women. The Randy Goat Dress is a great second layer option that provides breathability and moisture wicking performance. Design details include: a distinctive oversized collar with snap closure across the neck, an integrated hood, front drop-in pockets and thumb loops on the cuffs. The new performance wool blend will also be used in the Randy Goat Shrug. The Randy Goat Shrug features a cropped, pullover silhouette with a slight funnel neck collar. A dropped back hem, double V-slit vents and slit sleeve cuffs allow for comfort and ease of movement.
Nau rounds out its Fall-Winter 2014 collection adding two new silhouettes to its signature down category— the Allee Down Pullover and the Simmer Down Trench. The fashion-forward Allee Down Pullover features a washed finish providing a softer feel and aesthetic compared to traditional down pieces. A draped funnel neck, shirt tail hemline, asymmetrical seams and three-quarter length rolled cuff sleeves offer dramatic detail. A drawcord at the neck and a premium 650-fill goose down insulation bring added warmth.
For colder conditions, Nau introduces the Simmer Down Trench. The Simmer Down Trench features a full length silhouette, a 650-fill goose down insulation and a DWR finish for wind and water resistance. Elegant diamond-shaped quilting on the lower body and sleeves lend to a sophisticated aesthetic. Additional features include: an attached hood with encase elastic opening, a covered two-way zipper with wind flap, low profile zip cuffs and four pockets to store essentials.
