FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Portland, OR) August 6, 2014 — In Spring-Summer 2015, Nau will continue to evolve its approach to modern outdoor design offering new pieces that combine tailored silhouettes with technical performance. The seasonal collection merges two worlds— the natural and the man-made— cementing the brand’s belief that adventure and style can co-exist with fashion happening above tree line and functionality leaving an impression when worn on city streets.

Nau will segment its offering into three main sub-collections: the Modern Outdoor Collection, the Urban Collection and the Commuter Collection, and though there are divisions in the line, several silhouettes are designed with performance benefits to crossover between categories. Suited for both outdoor and urban environments, the Modern Outdoors offering is a versatile range of pieces designed with performance fabrics and stealth technical details. The Urban Collection is built for city pursuits and includes sophisticated silhouettes with easy care, sustainable fabrications. The Commuter Collection, also designed for those in urban areas, includes pieces fit for commuter cyclists that seamlessly transition from bike to office to afterhours. Ranging in price from $50.00 to $325.00, the Nau Spring-Summer 2015 Collection will be available beginning in February 2015 at specialty outdoor retailers, boutique shops and online at www.nau.com

NEW PRODUCT

A longtime advocate of bike-friendly design, Nau will continue to expand its Commuter Collection with clean, tailored silhouettes built for on and off-road performance. As part of this offering, Nau introduces a new technical fabrication, Cranky; best suited for tougher commutes and high intensity activities. The Cranky material will debut in the Cranky Jacket and Cranky Pant. These items feature recycled polyester knit faces, nylon backing and apolyurethane film lamination for a three-layer weatherproof, breathable material that will seamlessly transition from saddle to work. A DWR finish, sealed seams and four-way stretch further enhance performance. New to the technical hardshell category, the Cranky Jacket comes equipped with an offset waterproof zipper and wind-flap to aid in weather protection. Other bike-friendly features include: a two-way adjustable hood that zips into the collar, die-cut underarm vents, Velcro cuff adjustments and an innovative drawcord hem that unsnaps to reveal a reflective panel. Like the Cranky Jacket, the Cranky Pant also caters to commuter needs. The pant has back and partial front seat patches for comfort, a back pocket with storable reflective tape and Velcro cuff adjustments that feature reflective trimming for increased visibility. Nau will also add a second fabrication to its Commuter line, the Acoustic material. The fabrication is made with a blend of recycled polyester and polyester in a double weave complete with a DWR finish creating a sophisticated softshell with inherent performance benefits. The material debuts in a new silhouette: the Acoustic Short.

Nau will also build out its Modern Outdoor Collection with versatile outerwear and apparel pieces that mix performance fabrics and thoughtful details that easily transition from outdoor pursuits to urban adventures. The Slight Pullover,a marquee design from the collection, is constructed with a new wind and water resistant recycled polyester ripstop fabrication complete with a DWR finish for maximum weather protection. A washed finish adds an element of rugged style to the classic silhouette. Built for wherever adventure leads, the pullover can be stashed into its own chest zip pocket for easy transport.

To round out the seasonal offering, Nau will update its perennial classics, the Riding Jacket and Lightbeam Jacket, with bike-friendly accents. The updated pieces reflect Nau’s growing “on-bike” design focus and include new reflective and travel-focused details. The Riding Jacket is upgraded with reflectivity on the collar shown when flipped upward, along with a center back hem vent that snaps open to reveal reflective tape. This blazer-inspired silhouette maintains the same fabrication as the original design, featuring a blend of recycled polyester and polyester, double weave softshell for a lightweight, quick-drying material. The most noteworthy update to the wind resistant Lightbeam Jacket is packability. The piece will be able to stuff into a pocket, making it an ideal carry along layer for any activity. The pucker texture jacket will be available in two new seasonal colorways: a vibrant sea-inspired blue, Baltic Stripe and a light green, Oasis Stripe.
