Nautilus Signs on to Sponsor Fit America Contest

Fitness Company Donates Home Gyms; Bowflex Equipment as Prizes

PUYALLUP, Wash.– With over $40,000 worth of prizes waiting to be awarded and more coming in all the time, the first-ever Fit America Contest ( is shaping up to be the most exciting fitness event of 2007. (, the company behind the Fit America Contest, today announced that Nautilus(R), Inc. has donated Bowflex(R) home-gym, Bowflex TreadClimber(R) and Bowflex SelectTech(R) products as contest prizes.

“We are pleased to be able to provide prizes to participants in the Fit America Contest so they may continue on the path to better health,” said Laurie Kendall, Nautilus spokesperson. “Nautilus is a pure fitness company that provides the tools and education necessary to help people achieve fit and healthy lifestyles.”

In all, Nautilus is donating ten prizes: two sets of Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells with stands, two Bowflex TreadClimber TC5000s, two Bowflex Xtreme(R) 2 home gyms, two Bowflex Ultimate(R) home gyms, a Bowflex Ultimate(R) 2 home gym, and a Bowflex Revolution(TM) home gym. Each prize provided by the company includes the cost of shipping to the winner’s home.

Open to anyone in the U.S., the Fit America Contest is free to enter. From January 1, 2007 through April 1, 2007, contestants will be challenged to lose weight using any sensible, medically safe nutrition and exercise plan. Along with before-and-after photos and measurements, contestants will submit 100-word essays about their fitness journey during the contest. will then select winners based on a combination of their weight-loss success and the impact of their individual stories. There will be a Fit America Contest winner chosen for every prize donated.

The Nautilus Bowflex equipment joins a lineup of Fit America Contest prizes that includes 30 one-year memberships to an international fitness center chain, a one-year membership to online personal training site, an AquaJogger(R) fitness system, 50 one-year subscriptions to Northwest Woman magazine, one three-month style makeover from, ten “Enjoying Weight Loss” audio hypnosis programs on CD from Hypnosis Network(R), and a handcrafted luxury spa products basket from JoLene Marie’s Bath & Body Shop.
