NEMO Equipment, Inc., manufacturer of AirSupportedâ„¢ and Extreme Conditions Tents, sleeping pads and backcountry accessories, has expanded its onsite and national sales representative team. At its Nashua, NH studio, NEMO has added Erin Leonard as Graphic Designer and Ryan Mateyko as Director of Sales Strategy. Off site, they’ve added Gerten Outdoors for Midwest representation and Kahl and Partners for the Rockies and South Central US, including TX, OK, LA, AR and KS.
Erin Leonard left the mountains of Colorado for the ocean and her family in New Hampshire. Her past experience as a graphic designer responsible for print design and production at Hero Design Studio in Denver, prepared her for the trial by fire at NEMO. Day one she was immersed in the latest product catalog and has just recently come up for air. She looks forward to being an integral part of NEMO’s graphic design team, creating ads, collateral, web content, promotional materials and the occasional piece of office furniture, while her dog Stryder wishes for shorter work days and more time on the trails by the office.
Ryan left the exhilarating world of finance to see what all the hype was about in the outdoor industry. In his past life, he was a financial analyst at 42 North, a small project finance shop focusing on investment in renewable energy technology. There he handled modeling for potential investments, forecasting and variance analysis and market research. At NEMO he has been hired as the Director of Sales Strategy to create a directed approach for preserving the aggressive sales growth the company has enjoyed in recent years. This includes product and sales channel analysis and sales forecasting to keep NEMO on a steady course. When he’s not at work, Ryan can be found climbing or balancing it all out in AcroYoga.
On the sales force side, NEMO has partnered with two new rep agencies to grow its presence with retailers across the country.
Paul Gerten, owner of Gerten Outdoors is looking forward to working with NEMO. “NEMO is quickly establishing themselves as the standard for innovation, quality and versatility— that’s why I am excited to be representing them in the Midwest. The long list of awards supports my impressions of the brand, and I look forward to growing NEMO’s presence in the territory’.”
“Kahl and Partners, Ltd. is pleased to be representing NEMO in the Rockies and South Central regions. NEMO’s product offering fits perfectly with our suite of brands with its unique technology, brand position and extensive accolades. We strive to represent the best brands in the industry that offer retailers products that are profitable and give them something new to talk about with their customers. Recent recognition by Backpacker, Outside, Backcountry and Men’s Journal all bring attention to the fact that NEMO is setting the standard in tent design. It’s not just the AirSupported Technology® that we are drawn to, but the ecological approach that NEMO is bringing to the market. To top it off, NEMO’s pads and pillows are well positioned in the category with their distinctive designs,†says Travis Rosen, co-owner of Kahl and Partners.
“I am really excited to partner with Kahl and Partners and Gerten Outdoors. They are both savvy groups who have built their reputations selling high-end technical outdoor brands. Both have established relationships with current NEMO dealers and with many of our prospects. They will be great representatives for growing the NEMO brand in their regions,†says John Faherty, Director of Sales at NEMO.
