New Balance Announces License Agreement For Sports Monitors With HIGHGEARÂ®
Boston, MA â€“ November 10, 2006 â€“ New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc. announces today that a licensing agreement has been signed with Highgear USA for the New Balance Sports Monitors category. Highgear is a leading outdoor and fitness instrument brand dedicated to innovative design, user-friendly interfaces, and competitive pricing.

Based in Asheville, North Carolina and doing business internationally, Highgear will handle the design, development, and delivery of New Balance Sports Monitors throughout the United States. The inaugural collection of Sports Monitors consists of pedometers, running watches, and heart-rate monitors and will be available at retail in March 2007 through a Highgear appointed sales team.
Motivating the user to measure and achieve greater fitness, the New Balance Sports Monitors will initially target three distinct markets: fitness, running, and training. The VIA pedometer and HRT (touch heart-rate monitors â€œno strap requiredâ€) collections will target walkers and novice runners, the Vent chronograph watch series will address the needs of new and dedicated runners, and the N5 and N3 heart-rate monitors will fulfill the needs of core runners engaged in training or competition.
