SAN FRANSICO – There is no better motivator than friends, family and personal trainers. To capitalize on this interaction, the Life Fitness Virtual Trainer Web Site (www.virtualtrainer.lifefitness.com) launches its new “buddies” feature that enables exercisers to create and share cardio workout programs with their friends and family.
The new feature operates very similarly to how other social media Web sites work. Web site users are able to invite their friends and family to be their “buddies”. Exercisers provide the email address of the person whom with they would like request to be “buddies”. An email is then sent directly to that person with a request notification. Once the other user accepts the invite, the “buddies” will be able to create and share workout programs with each other. Members also have the capability to manage their “buddies” list.
“Research shows that social interaction is a key motivator when working out,” said John Stransky, president of Life Fitness. “Technology now enables us to replicate the motivation of exercising with friends when you workout alone.”
Designed to link exercisers and equipment, the Life Fitness Virtual Trainer Web Site is a tool that helps exercisers get recommended workout plans, track their exercise progress and keep fitness a part of their everyday life. The Web site’s interactive, online program harnesses the data that exercisers store on a USB device through the integrated USB port on the Elevation™ Series products and on the Platinum Club Series Treadmill and Lifecycle® Exercise Bikes for the home (EngageTM and InspireTM Consoles).
The Web site organizes and stores exercisers’ workout results making it simple to view and track progress from the Internet, as well as create personalized workouts for usage anywhere, anytime on Life Fitness Elevation Series or Platinum Club Series products.
Life Fitness Virtual Trainer Web Site is supported by the following operating systems: Windows 98 SE, 2000, XP, ME and Vista as well as Mac OS X tiger and Linux.
Registration and access to the Life Fitness Virtual Trainer Web Site is free for facilities, trainers and exercisers.
