HEAD/Tyrolia Hires New U.S. Racing Department Lead

BOULDER, COLORADO (October 14, 2021) – HEAD/Tyrolia, the fastest growing ski and binding brands in the USA over the past decade, and the World Cup manufacturer’s cup winner for eight of the past ten years, welcomes Stefan Hughes as U.S. Competition and Team Manager. Hughes will manage HEAD’s racing program in the U.S. and will work closely with HEAD’s Austrian race department to coordinate top-level service for HEAD’s retailers, coaches, and athletes.

Hughes grew up in Killington, VT and attended Burke Mountain Academy where he was the U.S. Nationals Junior Slalom Champion, before skiing for the University of Colorado. This two-time NCAA All-American then coached for Winter Park and Ski Club Vail before becoming the Assistant Alpine Ski Coach for the University of Colorado.
Having been an athlete and a coach, Stefan knows first-hand the support athletes need in order to be successful. “HEAD is the top performing brand on the World Cup, and this success comes from the top down. The engineering, the technical support, and the drive of its athletes is extraordinary, perhaps rebellious. This is what separates HEAD from the rest, and I’m happy to join this team,” said Hughes.
Hughes will be based in the HEAD/Tyrolia U.S. Winter Sports headquarters in Boulder, Colorado.
