WH Inc. Announces Overland Division, Launches LUMINATE Overland Gear Guide, and Adds New Clients

Seattle, WA (August 4, 2021) – WH inc. has announced the launch of its Overland Division, headed by industry veteran Matt Glass, who has been elevated to Senior Account Manager. Alongside the formalization of this division, the agency also announced the addition of two overland-centric clients, onX Offroad and Lightforce, while launching the agency’s latest LUMINATE Gear Guide, LUMINATE Overland. This guide features the best of what’s new when it comes to vehicle-based adventure gear, created for journalists.

As an agency, WH inc. has been at the forefront of the Overlanding movement, setting up the first overland-centric display in the lobby of Outdoor Retailer in 2018. Over this period the agency has become a go-to for brands targeting this space, working alongside Dometic, iKamper, MAXTRAX, Step 22 Gear, Omnia, James Baroud USA, RLD Designs, Patriot Trailers and DMOS on a range of marketing, PR and communications programs.
Over the past four years with WH inc., Glass has helped multiple brands from the off-road and overland realm expand their presence within the lifestyle and traditional outdoor spaces. From creating the agency’s first dedicated overland display at Outdoor Retailer to spearheading the launch of Dometic’s CFX fridge line, he has led communication efforts across countless product releases like the iKamper Skycamp Mini, DMOS Delta Shovel and Benchmade’s Bugout Custom Knife Builder.
Of the formation of the Overland division, Matt Glass said, “Over a decade ago, I took a job sweeping the floors at an off-road industry leader just so I could get my foot in the door and have a shot at turning my passion for exploration into a career. Back then, overlanding was a niche term hardly used outside of a small group of international explorers, but I was inspired. Things are quite a bit different now and our agency’s growth in the space is certainly a testament to the exponential interest in vehicle-based adventuring. LUMINATE Overland is the fourth issue in the LUMINATE series, and second specialty guide following LUMINATE Hunt. The LUMINATE series was launched in early 2020 to highlight the agency’s diverse set of brands to global media. The guides bring together many of WH inc.’s capabilities incorporating fresh creative, design, copywriting and media relations. LUMINATE was created in the vacuum left by the loss of in-person media events and tradeshows following the Covid-19 pandemic. The guides have been such a success in terms of generating media for the agency’s brands, it has become a seasonal guide journalists and clients look forward to season after season.
More than vehicle outfitting, overlanding is a combination of adventuring, off-road travel and outdoor living, combining multiple areas in which WH inc. is uniquely skilled and experienced.
