American Adventure Sports, a company known for pioneering Adventure Racing and Ultra Running, has announced a brand new event unlike anything before it. Trailapalooza is a 24-hour-long trail running festival which will incorporate trail running, team strategy, an obstacle course/mud run, food, drinks, live music, camping, and A LOT of fun!

Trailapalooza is not the typical trail running race. Participants compete in various categories (solo or in teams of 2, 3, or 4 racers) with the goal of racking up the most points within the 24-hour race. Throughout the 24 hours, racers have four trail options to choose from. Each trail has a different point value based on distance and difficulty. Teams can race as many or as few runners as they wish throughout the entire race. In addition to three grueling trail courses available (5K, 15K, and 20K), there will be an11K mud run with over 20 obstacles.

Trailapalooza is set to take place at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Seven Springs, Pennsylvania on October 20th. In addition to the physically-demanding mountainous trails, this race will challenge competitors mentally as they strategize the best game plan to rack up points. Racers can stagger teammates at various times, on different trails, or run together for comradery. In addition, each teammate must strategize based on their own physical capabilities, making sure to keep on top of their body maintenance and protect themselves from over-exhaustion.

For less advanced athletes, Trailapalooza will also offer 6-hour and 12-hour options for those who aren’t quite ready to compete for 24 hours. Competing just for fun? No problem! Winners aren’t only determined by point values and time; Best Costume and Little Helper (for the person who went out of their way to help a fellow competitor) are also categories eligible for prizes! Finally, if all of this isn’t enough to convince you to sign up, Seven Springs will also be hosting their annual Autumnfest, which will offer live entertainment, tons of family-friendly games and activities, and an arts and crafts bazaar.

Sponsored by one of the best trail running shoe companies around, Scott Sports Running Shoes, SCOTT’s Trailapalooza promises to be a fun event for the whole family, and a race worthy of the finest runners in the world.
