Seattle, Wash. (April 13, 2010) – Nikwax, the leading manufacturer of aftermarket care products for apparel, footwear and gear, has released an updated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report.
“Building a sustainable business is an ongoing journey. For Nikwax, a CSR report serves as a check-in, to reflect and assess,†said Chas Fisher, president of Nikwax N.A. and global brand director. “This document gathers our efforts in one place, and shares the results in a straightforward way. It gives our stakeholders, from the Nikwax internal team to the consumer, access to our successes and areas in need of improvement. We welcome their engagement and feedback as the journey continues.â€
The Nikwax CSR Report openly discusses the successes and challenges of the company’s sustainability goals. Included in the report is detailed information on carbon emissions, energy reduction efforts, employee experiences, and more. It provides a comprehensive overview of the multitude of initiatives that have positioned Nikwax as a leader in sustainability and environmental leadership in the outdoor industry.
2009 was a particularly significant year for the Nikwax environmental initiatives, all of which are highlighted in the March 2010 update. Two of the year’s most notable achievements were achieving ISO 14001 certification and being named one of the “Top 60 Green Companies in the U.K.â€
