The Tubbs Romp to Stomp event is modeled after, and is the winter complement to, the successful Race for the Cure® run/walk events in summer. Since 2003, over 18,000 people have donned snowshoes and raised nearly $1.2 million for Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.
“On a very personal level, there are many of us at Nikwax whose loved ones have been impacted by breast cancer. Many waterproofers contain perfluoroctyl (PFO) fluorocarbons, which can degrade into PFOA, an EPA-listed carcinogen. Nikwax products are 100-percent water-based. We do not use PFOs, and we take an uncompromising stance against the use of PFOs in the home environment, for the safety of the people using our product.â€
The Romp to Stomp events began in late January in New Jersey, Vermont and Utah. Upcoming events will be held at Snoqualmie, Wash. (Jan. 20, 2010), Mt. Hood, Ore. (Feb. 27, 2010), and Frisco, Colo.
