Nominations Extended for the 2014 Outdoor Inspiration Awards – Established by adidas Outdoor

SAN JUAN, CAPISTRANO, CALIF. –– Nominations for the fourth annual Outdoor Inspiration Awards, created by adidas Outdoor, are now open, recognizing individuals, groups and companies whose efforts go above and beyond in encouraging others to participate in outdoor activities. To submit a nomination, complete the submission form by the extended deadline, Wednesday, December 18, 2013. The awards ceremony takes place at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market at the Salt Palace Convention Center on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 6 p.m. and is free and open to all attendees. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
“We are excited to kick off the official search for this year’s Outdoor Inspiration Award nominees,” said Kenji Haroutunian, Emerald Expo Outdoor Group vice president and OR show director. “We know the industry is packed with inspirational stories and individuals who are breaking new ground in building active participation in outdoor activities. We invite the industry to identify the achievements of these individuals, groups and companies.”
Past recipients of the Outdoor Inspiration Awards include Bill Sweasy, CEO and Chairman of Red Wing Shoe Co.; REI, The Sierra Club, The North Face, Soldiers to Summits, Suunto, Outdoor Afro and Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Fred Becky.

Their selflessness has been critical to fostering the growth of this special community.”
